Review: Essence Stay With Me Lipgloss

I picked these up at ULTA with my 3.50 off 10.00 purchase.
I ended up getting all 6 colors as they were cheap anyways (2.29 a pop) pretty good price them.

Initial thought:
Bought them just because they were cheap and wanted to try something different. They appeared to be like a thick stain in the tube. I wasn't sure of the quality as I have purchased one of their nail polish before and it sucked. I had little hope for these suckers, but I'm glad I bought them.

swatches:

Final thought:
For 2.29 a piece, I find these are a superb deal! they are too sheer to wear alone, but if you layer then over lip liner or lipstick, they add an excellent final touch. The texture is very silky. It doesn't have that sticky nasty feel to it. If you do wear it alone, after 30 mins or so, it fades into a very natural color with a hint of gloss. I have been reaching for these quite a bit vs my regular lip glosses. I toss these in my bag for a quick work safe color. I def would recommend these, I would opt out of one of the two. Trendsetter and Berry Me look the same on the lips.

Review: Wet n Wild Coloricon 8 eyeshadow palette

Wet ‘n’ Wild Blue had Me at Hello Eyeshadow Palette  Cost: 4.99 @ Walgreens

I stopped by Walgreens and had the chance to finally pick up this palette (used my 5.00 certificate from collecting 2000 points on my rewards card). I already own Comfort Zone and tossed out the purple palette (this one was complete crap in my opinion)

initial thought:
I've been a fan of Wet n Wild for quite a while now, and instantly fell in love ever since the Discontinued 6 eyeshadow palettes. I wanted the blues in this palette so that's why I picked it up. Wet n Wild has always been a hit or miss for me. Some colors come out smooth and buttery while others are just complete crap, as in they are too chalky or brick hard. I had high hopes on this palette as the swatches online appeared beautiful and pigmented.

Onto the swatches...

Comes with this crappy applicator

swatches:
top line is with primer
middle line is by itself
third line is swatched wet

Left Brow bone color:

This color to me was a piece of crap. I could barely get the dang thing to stick onto my brush. here's what it looks like after several attempts to use a brush for swatching. It was chunky and glittery and full of grossness. I sure as hell would not want to use this color on my brow bone...nor even use it on my eyelid.

here's what it looks like after my massive brush and finger attack for the swatch. It went from pretty to nasty.

Left Eyelid color:

Left Crease color:

Left Definer color:

(idk if it's just me...but the crease and definer swatched the same with the exception that the crease had a sheer blue tint to it which I wasn't able to photograph well)
Right brow bone color:

I probably wouldn't use this color as a highlight...maybe an inner corner deal IF needed, it's color pay off is like a light sky bluish color.
Right Eyelid color:

(look at the nasty stain I had after using it wet)

Right Crease color:

This is the blue I fell in love with...not sure how I will incorporate it into my eyeshadow, but when there's a will there's a way.
Right Definer color:

This color was the worst out of the bunch! I literally did like 20 swatch attempts using my finger. The shadow itself was brick hard! I had to use my finger nail to scrape the top layer into a loose powder to be able to swatch it onto arm. I probably wouldn't touch this color again for the life of me.
Below is a photo of what I had to do to get some swatches.

eyeshadow palette has been harassed by me, here's what it looks like now.
It went from pretty to ugly looking, LOL. Oh well, as long as it's still usable.

Final thoughts:
I was uber excited about this palette, but after spending a LONG time swatching and taking photos, I fell out of love with this palette. Since I only adore a couple colors, It might be best for me to just depot those and add into a separate palette. Final verdict is...pick up if you want something affordable and with a variety of blues but keep in mind that every palette is a hit or miss on texture. (I got the sucky one, boo-hoo) oh well.

Review: MAC Flighty Collection

I picked up these 2 babies on a whim...I swear they were perfect inside Macy's but now that I've had a chance to play with them, I'm disappointed. So sad, boo-hoo.

From the MAC Flighty Collection (Big Bounce Shadow 16.50 a pop), I purchased Impeccably Rich & Rich, Sweet. Of course there are a ton of other colors to pick from but these were the only ones that were in stock.
anyways, onto my short review. (Hub is rushing me like crazy! I'm suppose to go grocery shopping. HAHA, plus it's my first review so I will work on it, LOL)
Here are several photos that I manage to take before nightfall (Just got off work after a long 13 hour shift)

WARNING!, I don't own photo shop (and sure as heck don't know how to edit/fix images) so what you see is what I took with my camera directly. I just basically cropped it to my size liking. LOL. I know I suck, Oh well. Hey at least you got some photos right?

Rich, Sweet on left / Impeccably Rich on right
I know they swatched so pretty right?

Here's a swatch boo-boo I made, by using a tad bit too much, and then trying to even it out.
see the nasty clumps. Gross, I know!

I had to use several lighting's to capture what the shadows look like on my eyelids. (don't mind the massive white and yellow lighting, as well as my gigantic pimples)

First photo. Applied with a brush. (I found this to be the best application method)
amount of goodies I used.

just a small speck, I swear I didn't go crazy.

Here is it applied with brush, It looks rather gross. (I know sucky lighting hell it's like 9 PM atm)

Here it is applied with moi finger
If your wondering why its blotchy...here's the remaining stuff on moi finger
such a waste.

final thoughts, these honeys are going back. I'd like to keep them....but seeing how they are, I don't think I will be using these much. As much as a junkie as I am, I don't want to add these 2 to my collection. Plus it was kind of unsanitary to keep dipping in the container. Last thing I need is an eye infection.
The application process was a bit weird? It felt ooey and gooey like it wouldn't stay in one spot. It was rather hard to apply because the formula was wet. Depending on how much usage, it dries quick or slow. I'm always press for time in the morning...so this won't do for me. I need to dip finger, apply and go. I don't want to waste extra time checking to see if I overdid it or not enough. This is definitely NOT for me.
I should of walked away when I saw the creasing in the SA's eyelids. She was wearing the gold color one when I purchased these two.
Would I recommend? ummm...not bashing MAC products, but um no unless your loaded and want to collect them. Of course this is just my personal opinion...so you may or may not like it. I was not feeling these at all. I suppose you could use it as a liner? but why when there are eyeliners?!? lol.

Deals and Steals: Victoria Secrets 75% off old label

I don't know if this applies to all Victoria Secrets locations, but this particular location that I went to is located in Kansas at Town Center.
I originally went to Town Center to find a dress to wear to a wedding. After seeing the BIG HUGE 75% off sign in window I decided to stop in the browse. To my surprise, it looks like all the sprays, lotions, and selected perfumes have new labels so they are getting rid of the old labels. I picked up a gazillion bottles of the Lovespell body spray and lotion. Original price was 9.00 but with the discount, I scored them for 2.25 a pop. I stocked up, I mean literally stocked up! I grabbed about 5 bottles of each, cheers! Hub thought I was crazy. Oh well, sooner or later I'm going to run out and will be running back to buy them for the original price, so it was a steal for me.

I'm currently in the process of building a photo light box. My lamp base broke, so I'm headed to Michael's with my 40% off coupon and stopping by Lowe's to purchase a daylight light bulb. During my stop at Macy's, I happened to stop by the MAC counter and picked up 2 of the MAC FLIGHTY collection Big Bounce Shadow in 2 shades: Impeccably Rich (gold) and Rich, Sweet (brown). Will review as soon as light box is in place. But I can tell you that I'm currently debating to return them or not. I like but not in love with them.

I have a confession!

Ok, so hopefully you're drawn to this post now after reading the title. :) It's true I do have a confession. Here, ready for it? My confession is......I dont wear make up everyday!! Outrageous right? I know. Especially coming from someone who is writing a make up blog. ha. But its the truth. But when I do wear make up, most of the time its suttle make up. Let me share a few things that I wear, when I wear make up. I would die (no, actually I wouldn't.) if I dont wear these products, when I do wear make up. (Does that even make sense? Hopefully it does. HA!)

My passion products, listed in the order I usually put them on:

Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
in the color Nude
I absolutely love this product because it's absorbs easily into my skin. It's silky yet not watery. The color is buildable and it gives just the right amount of coverage. Yes I love my MUFE HD foundation BUT this is my go-to for on the go flawless skin!

Wet 'n Wild Single Eye Shadow
in the color Brulee
This is my go-to eye shadow for when the clock is ticking. It instantly brightens up my eyes. It's also a matte eye shadow which is perfect when I have to work in the office. I usually apply it with my fingers all over my lid, inner corner and on the bottom of my eyes.

24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil
in the color Zero
This is one of the best pencil liners that I've ever tried!! It truly lives up to its name. It simplly glides onto my lids and easy to smudge. I've heard that MAC's...black liner..dont know the name is super soft as well however I've never used it so I can't compare! Sorry MAC lovers!

Maybelline Colossal Hydroproof Masacara
in the color Black
I believe this mascara used to be "waterproof". It's now "hydroproof". Anyway, I love this mascara because it's the only masacara that will hold my curl!!!

MAC Blush
in the color Gingerly
Unfortunately I believe this color has been discontinued. I bought mines at an OCC last year. I love this color because it's not too pink but it's also not brown.

By the time I'm done with my whole "every day look" routine I'm ready to go. As for lips. I alternate. I really dont have a favorite or a go to passion product. If I'm running low on time I will swipe on a Fresh Lip Treatment in either Rose or Honey. If I have a little bit more time I will dig through my collection of lipstick and lipgloss to find the "perfect" color. But yes, that is it for my every day routine!!

Introductions

Hello ladies and germs, H.L. and I have joined together to bring you this beaute blog. We hope that you all will enjoy this blog as much as we do. With this first post, we will share a bit about ourselves. Thank you.

Name: M.Her
Status: Married with a four year old son, work FT, and school PT. Buzee buzee.
For as long as I can remember I have always been a make up junkie. I'm in love with makeup, I sleep, eat, and breathe makeup. Okay, okay, it's not that serious, but makeup is my bestfriend. Although I don't wear it on a daily basis due to laziness and work, I still like to collect and collect some more. I have a soft spot for cute packaging and glitter.
I read many blogs and watched many Youtube videos (I check my fave blogs every day). I'm an addict always on the lookout for something to watch or read related to beauty. My husband thinks I love my computer more then him. Sometimes I do, SHHH.
The reason why I never got around to starting a blog is because of so much negativity and hate. I know everyone's entitled to their opinion, but sometimes people just need to learn how to STOP and press the RED square X at the top right hand corner. *cough*  I have mentally prepared myself for anything that comes my way.
Anywho, I hope that you all will enjoy the blog as much as I will.

Name: H.Lor
Status: Married with a 3 yr old and 1 yr old, FT & PT employee and school (You only have one life to live, live it up!!)
My make up love is by far not as intense as M's is however I still love make up, and everything beauty. When I was younger I never fully understood why people would choose to wear make up. (Especially those who wore black liner an inch thick and lip liner that was three shades darker than their lipstick) Quite honestly, the make up trend in the 90's really scared me. But as I grew older I realized that make up, with just the right application, enhanced a women's features. It is an art I have yet to master!

This blog was created from our love of make up. Here you will find honest reviews, rants and tips and tricks. I hope you enjoy reading our blog as much as we enjoying writing it.
